The Professional Matters webinar series is designed to support managing brokers by addressing regulatory changes and practice issues in today’s real estate industry.
Managing brokers can tune in each month to a Professional Matters webinar and familiarize themselves with regulatory requirements and best practices, to help ensure they maintain the expertise and awareness that real estate licensees rely upon. It’s all part of our commitment to support managing brokers in fulfilling their important role in training and supervising their licensees, providing competent services to consumers, and upholding standards of ethical behaviour.

Watch BCFSA’s Practice Standards Advisor Alex Longson provide an introduction to the newly introduced Disclosure for Residential Tenancies form. This new form is specifically for use with prospective tenants for residential rental properties and fulfills the requirements for disclosures under both sections 54 and 55 of the Rules.
Alex will provide an overview of the form and new resources from BCFSA to support licensees in understanding and using the form. In addition he will review the disclosure requirements and their application to rental property management. In this webinar, you will learn more about how to support licensees at your brokerage to make the required disclosures effectively with consumers.

On September 30, BCFSA released revised, streamlined versions of the following mandatory consumer disclosure forms:
• Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services
• Disclosure of Risks to Unrepresented Parties
• Disclosure to Sellers of Expected Remuneration
In this webinar, Practice Standards Advisor Alex Longson provides an overview of the changes to the forms, the consultation process behind the changes, and new resources from BCFSA to support licensees in understanding and using the revised forms.
For a three-month transition period, from September 30 until December 31, 2019, licensees may use either the original forms or the revised versions to make the mandatory disclosures to consumers. Following the three-month transition, the revised forms must be used exclusively. In this webinar, you will learn more about how to support licensees at your brokerage to use the revised forms effectively with real estate clients.
