Regulatory Information

BCFSA uses a number of regulatory instruments to inform the business activities of regulated entities. Regulatory instruments include Advisories, Regulatory Statements, and Guidelines.

BCFSA encourages Plan Administrators, subject to the Pension Benefits Standards Act and its regulation and other BCFSA guidelines, to follow CAPSA’s guidelines when meeting fiduciary responsibilities in the administration of their pension plans. Please refer to the CAPSA Guidelines.

  • Disclaimer:

As part of its transition to an integrated regulator for the financial services sector, BCFSA is undertaking a comprehensive review of existing regulatory instruments to standardize our approach to communicating information, expectations, and requirements to regulated entities. The work to review, revise and reclassify existing regulatory instruments (e.g. “bulletins”, “guides”, “policy statements”) is ongoing. In the interim, previously issued regulatory instruments will appear as originally published.
