General

Incomplete course registration documents for the Residential/Commercial Trading Services Applied Practice course (the “course”) may be returned. This will delay processing. Learners will be registered in the first available course. The tuition fee must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. The tuition fee includes all course materials. All course registration documents submitted become the property of BCFSA.

Cancellation

Requests for cancellation from the course must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected]. NO REFUNDS will be processed for cancellation once the course has commenced. Cancellation from the course prior to the course date will be refunded subject to the following administration charges:

  • Less than 10 business days in advance of the course date – $262.50 (30% of the course fee)
  • More than 10 business days in advance of the course date – $87.50 (10% of the course fee)

Refunds will require approximately 3 weeks for processing.

Course Structure

The course consists of four components (including online components and virtual in-class components) which must be completed consecutively in their intended order. More information on the course structure can be found here.

Attendance & Participation

Due to the blended nature of the course delivery, failure to participate in the online components and/or attend the virtual in-class components will result in a rescheduling fee (noted below). Learners who fail to successfully complete the required components will not be eligible for the temporary license that is required for participation in the remaining components. Unsuccessful completion of the remaining components could result in cancellation of the temporary license issued under the Real Estate Services Act.

Transfers

Requests for transfers must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected] ten (10) business days prior to the course start date. Please note that a transfer fee is applicable for each transfer request. Transfer requests are subject to the following administration charges:

  • Less than 10 business days in advance of the course date – $262.50 (30% of the course fee)
  • More than 10 business days in advance of the course date – $87.50 (10% of the course fee)

No Show

Learners who are absent from the course and have not contacted BCFSA in advance, will be required to pay the full course fee again to re-register for the course. BCFSA reserves the right to change the fee without notice.

Make-Up

Learners who are required to make up a component of the course will be required to pay the make-up fee. The make-up fee for any missed or failed component is 30% of the course fee.

Learners required to make-up Component Two must do so within one year of completing Component One. Failure to do so will result in a learner having to redo Components One and Two in their entirety.

Learners must start Component Three within one year of completing Component Two. Learners must obtain a temporary license in order to start Component Three. Learners must complete Components Three and Four within 6 months of receiving a temporary license. A learner who has failed a component during the temporary licensing period more than two times may have their temporary license revoked.

Learners who do not complete the required components within the time frames, could also be required to re-take the Real Estate Trading Services Licensing course and/or examination.

Learners who have failed a pre-licensing component of the course more than two times must wait 90 days from the end of the incomplete component before attempting the course again. In accordance with sections 8 and 9 of the Real Estate Services Rules made under the Real Estate Services Act, learners are required to register for the course again and pay the full course fee, should they wish to continue. Previous activities and assessments in the course will not be acknowledged or considered. Where a learner is required to wait for 90 days based on previous failed attempts, no refund or transfer will be permitted.

Change of Learner Profile

Address, Email Address, Phone Number, and Name

BCFSA must be notified in writing of a learner’s change of name. Notifications to [email protected] must be accompanied by change of name documentation (e.g., marriage certificate). Learners must update their address, email address or phone number by notifying BCFSA in writing.

Correspondence must be forwarded to BCFSA under a separate cover from assignments.

NOTE: Correspondence will be sent to the latest address on record.

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act

BCFSA’s collection, use, disclosure and retention of information must comply with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Collected personal information will only be used by authorized BCFSA staff to fulfill the purpose for which it was originally collected or for a use consistent with that purpose. Assessment

Learners are required to achieve a minimum of 70% on all Gateway assignments and quizzes.

Learners are required to complete all activities, quizzes, assignments and discussions in order to successfully complete Component One and receive a passing grade on the Module 3, Gateway Assessment Part 2. If a learner does not complete all activities, quizzes, assignment and / or discussions, they can be asked to redo Component One.

Learners are required to respond to all reflection questions and complete the final assignment in Component Three. If a learner does not complete all required activities in Component Three, they will have to reschedule and complete within six months of issuance of a temporary license.

BCFSA has the sole discretion and is the final authority over all matters concerning the validity of quizzes, assignments, assessment scores and completion status.

Disclaimer

BCFSA reserves the right to amend course schedules, course availability, fees, content, policies, manual and other reference materials without notice at its sole and absolute discretion. Learners may be required at any time to incur expenses such as travel and accommodation expenses in relation to the course, whether the course schedule is amended or not, and those expenses shall be the sole responsibility of the learner.
